  Street Asylum 1990

  These are the movies Wings Hauser was born to star in. An insane fever dream with a steamy sax soundtrack. You got a Brion James lighting people on fire… G Gordon Liddy of Watergate infamy getting off to being whipped… Sy Richardson cackling crazily while he grabs another dude’s junk… and the late great Wings Hauser losing his marbles and trying to put a stop to the evil S.Q.U.A.D. (Scum Quelling Urban Assault Division). It’s weird, violent, and horny.

  The version on YouTube was ripped right off a worn VHS tape, complete with all the tracking issues. The perfect way to watch something like this.

  The Avengers 1998

  ★½ Rewatched 23 Mar 2025

  I was never a big fan of the show, but my mother is and I decided she needed to finally see this mess of an adaptation. I’ve seen it one other time over 25 years ago, so I kind of knew what to expect, but it’s definitely worse than I remembered. The script is bizarre, and Fiennes and Thurman have no chemistry whatsoever. 

  My mother’s opinion if you’re curious… not that bad, but fucking weird. 😆

  Godzilla Minus One 2023

  Damn... that was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's not only a great Godzilla movie, but a great movie all around. It's got everything... it's got heart, action, humor, an engaging story with characters you actually care about, & incredible special FX. The first time we hear the Godzilla theme as he walks slowly into the city, I had chills. I'm talking my goosebumps had goosebumps! This is one I can't wait to get into my collection!

  The Gorge 2025

  Not bad… not great but not bad at all. The first half of The Gorge is the best part. It’s a touching romance story between 2 people separated by an impassable physical barrier, & their only means of communication is writing signs that they can read with binoculars. There’s very little spoken dialogue, and without even being able to physically interact, Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller have a great chemistry. 

  But then the second half hits and the film’s tone changes dramatically.…
