Out of the 5060 films I've marked as watched here, this is by far the worst.

I really appreciate Robert Eggers' dedication to have his characters look fully authentic for the times his films take place in, but Count Orlok sporting the classic '19th century Hungarian Outlaw' handlebar moustache made him look more hilarious than scary.

This film better go down in cinema history as a misunderstood masterpiece upon its release. Still the best film of 2022, and I would honestly be shocked if anything tops it in this decade. The nightmarish yet captivating atmosphere, the eeriely beautiful imagery and soundtrack stay with you way past the end credits, making this one of the most despairing and unsettling films ever made - on par only with Elem Klimov's Come and See.

Lily Fisher's performance as young Norma Jeane is phenomenal.

The real villain was the mum who thought it was a good idea to move back from Berlin to Budapest.
