Finally, a movie for the most annoying dudes you ever met at a house party in 2005. The humor is dated, the script is boring, and you could tell me this was a 20 year old student film on some long forgotten youtube channel and I’d believe you.
The protagonist isn’t even remotely compelling. Just an uninteresting 35yo dude who lives with his parents and ends up with an Asian schoolgirl girlfriend. All the other women in the film play…
Entertaining, better than I expected. Very goofy, at times feels like they’re trying to capture Yakuza game energy but it has that American Hollywood blockbyster vibe that keeps it from reaching 4-5 star potential. Some cool kill shots though!
This could have easily been a 4 or 5 star movie with even the smallest amount of plot development. That said, it’s still an entertaining watch, the whole cast is enjoyable and you can tell Nic Cage had fun with this role. I personally wanted a little bit more depth to the story but if you’re looking for an absurd and suspenseful slasher movie, this is a great choice. If nothing else, watch it for the absolutely bonkers Cage performance.
