willing to forgive a lot of this movie’s missteps on the second viewing and had a lot more fun this time but ultimately the third act is weightless. 17 and 18 are never really at risk of turning on each other. marshall and ylfa are impossible to take seriously (laughable given the obvious inspiration). the creepers are, textually, not a threat! the mutiny happens effortlessly. just like, where are the stakes!
