Sean Baker is the director of my longest standing top four Letterboxd film ever - The Florida Project. So naturally, I had to see this. Nothing of his will ever beat TFP, perhaps nothing ever, so no, Anora is not “better” than TFP in my opinion. It’s actually much lower. Reminded me of Uncut Gems w all the arguing, except Anora does this part better. It’s comedic and Anora herself has so much attitude is entertaining.

I’m just glad I can finally cross this off the watchlist & declare myself educated now.

Such interesting dialogue. Love Uma Thurman in this, love her look too. It was great to learn the origin of so many commonly ‘quoted irl’ or ‘referenced in recent movies/tv’ moments. Samuel L. Jackson was so great in this. First time I’ve truly enjoyed a John Travolta character. First time realizing I’m attracted to Bruce Willis too??

What a wild ride, I’m here for it.
