Love classic Hollywood when it’s done properly. It has quite a dark underlying message but only for about 10% of the runtime, the rest of it is probably what many of the depression era punters wanted at the time - pure escapism.

Redline 2009
It was a bit too “anime” for my tastes, in that the storyline, dialogue and humour are crappy, but outrageous enough to keep you entertained. The film and its characters move at breakneck speed anlongside its excellent animation.
Probably the closest thing to an adaptation of the F-Zero games.

Late Night with the Devil 2023
Enjoyable horror, clearly drew inspiration from Ghostwatch but took it in a slightly different direction, and had a different atmosphere. The acting is excellent and the 70s TV talk show set is a great choice.

Breathless 1960
The French New Wave isn’t for everyone, and I personally find it to be a mixed bag. For all its style, I couldn’t get away from the fact it was tedious with unlikeable characters. Nothing happens, and their chat didn’t interest me. Perhaps if I’d done film school I’d see it differently, but that shouldn’t be a prerequisite to watching a film.
