a 25 year old and a 15 year old is unacceptable (even if it is the 70s). i did not enjoy this movie at all because of that huge age gap was disgusting. unfortunate bc the cinematography was beautiful

African film at its peak. Great discussions on the effect of IMF and the world bank (and how these instututions upkeep the narrative that Africa is a ‘poor’ and ‘underdeveloped’ country). A great example of Africans using film to destroy narratives that have persisted since the colonial age and create a new national indentity centered in the preservation of their culture.
