This one has really stuck with me, and continues to do so. It’s such a downer, but in a really compelling way. Not sad exactly, but deeply melancholy.
Oscar Isaac gives an incredible performance, musically and otherwise. He remains sympathetic even while playing an asshole.
So we’ve got O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Inside Llewyn Davis; I think the Coen Brothers should do one more quasi-musical period piece to complete the trilogy.
