Lowkey was locked in for 75% of the movie. Some crazy suspension of disbelief aside, JB’s villain was quite smart and Taron’s tension was palpable. Ideal rating would be 3.25, but rounding up in the spirit of holidays.

A Real Pain 2024
Such a great exploration of the relativity of pain & grief. It’s hard to describe everything the movie made you feel, but it did a great job in getting you there. Jesse and Kieren’s duo was incredible, just a really memorable performance. I can only hope for more simply complex content like this.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 2024
I realized pretty soon how little I remembered of Fury Road but nonetheless this was a pretty fun watch (shoutout motor-chariot). The world building was quite well done, and the acting really sold it. Only negative points for me were some of the CGI in this movie (which is a little surprising), and the movie felt a little long at times. But otherwise it's interesting to see yet another take of a post apocalyptic world. Speaking of honestly after Dune, Planet of the Apes, Fallout, and this, might need to take a little break - a little too much bleak humanity content for one year lol.
