  Hugh Grant was wonderful but the plot sorta fell thin for me. Took a long time to try and build up the tension for an ending that wasn’t very spectacular. This is a more tame version of themes explored in Martyrs w less than half the bite.

  I really enjoyed this film. The child actors were insanely good and the young actress who portrays Ida has more range than some very famous movie stars. The depictions of childhood and the experiences that shape people’s morality and values when they are young combined with supernatural powers was fucking cool and interesting. The final scene is so crazy. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars was some of the language around autism but it’s like a very short conversation or two that doesn’t consume the movie in any way or distract from its actual message.

  So much potential and I was fucking BORED the whole time. Ending was a huge letdown considering they’re mentioning it the entire movie. The Gallows is better than this.

Following
