If you took the last half of Jurassic World and the first half of this, I'd probably give it five stars because it's so much fun. Cut 30 mins out of that second half and it'd be gold.
I always forget this is from the same director as The Orphanage! Wild. What a career!

I mean, clearly there's a lot of stuff wrong with this film, but the joy I feel at Bryce Dallas Howard, in her ridiculous shoes, leading the T-rex into battle on the side of that velociraptor, is unbounded!
Excellent performances for the young cast, and I certainly benefitted from seeing the film at LFF so I heard the director explain that the clunky special and practical effects are an homage to older Malay horror films. A delightful coming of age tale.
Not really breaking new ground, and I didn't love the end, but this is a decent horror film, well acted and with some good creepy moments. Definitely doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting.
