Frankenweenie 1984
It’s easy to see why this short launched Tim Burton’s career. A cute but amusing take on the classic “Frankenstein” story but where the idea is less about the dangers of monkeying with nature and more about the dangers of neighborhood gossip. It’s an aspect that would definitely play out in other Burton projects like “Edward Scissorhands.”

The idea behind this story was a clever one as Tim Burton noticed how quickly Halloween decorations were taken down and Christmas ones were up as soon as October ended.
