Ad Lib Night 2006
The narrative tissue in My Dear Enemy, the emotional foundation in Come Rain, Come Shine, and a confessional aphrodisiac in Ad Lib Night. There's a very meditative quality to driving in a Lee Yoon-ki film. Life's idiosyncrasies, repressions, and expectations all left to simmer in a small metal box with wheels. It's odd, despite the chaos of social pretense and fake familial interaction, its when you're sitting alone with your own thoughts does it sound the loudest.
