  I love this movie. Give me all the X-Men all the time. Mangold delivers a dark, emotional “ending” to Logan and Charles Xavier’s saga.  The references to everything that has come before and the incredible world-building of a not-to-distant future just work so well.  Stephen Merchant and breakout star Dafne Keen are also splendid.

  (Edit: oh, and Sir Patrick Stewart is tremendous as well!)

  I wasn’t alive in 1972 to witness the first ever live televised terrorist attack during the Olympics in Munich, but I imagine it was only a little more riveting than Tim Fehlbaum’s September 5. This movie is heart-pounding but in an intentional way. I never had the slightest urge to pause this film (we watched from a screener).
