Just a dude... definitely not a Lizard

It's insane how talented Andrew Garfield is, like leave some room for the rest of us King. A fantastic telling of an interesting figure in musical theatre history. Cast were all great, Garfield is up there as a wickedly gifted actor that I am truly excited to see whatever project they do next. Bittersweet, and sickly so.
Another Aardman classic. What is there to be said about this studio and it's brilliant, impressive, hilarious films. The voice cast deliver some great performances, the dialogue is witty and sharp, and the visual gags are so, so funny, it doesn't matter how many times I see this film, there's always a new discovery of a gag I hadn't seen before.
So many iconic lines, such iconic imagery, so dark and funny, it really is like a fucked up rom-com. The lead performances are so fantastic, Ryder ruled the 80s and this movie is no exception, also, seeing a young Slater is so much fun, getting little glimpses into the kind of actor he would evolve to be is marvellous. The pacing can be a little off and some lines would hit a lot harder if the delivery was stronger. Though ultimately, it's a great 80s romp.
The musical is low-key better in nearly every way though.
The family in this are literally insane and psychotic. I mean it's a wonderful Christmas film, with some brilliant comedic performances and amazing music from John Williams, but yeah, the wackyness can be a bit jarring.
