  Every detail, scene, shot, and sound in this film is crafted with utmost care and consideration. Each frame looks like a hauntingly beautiful painting in and of itself. The b&w image emphasizes the harsh, merciless conditions the Soviet partisans are forced to endure and the demoralizing effect of the war. At the same time, the lingering close-ups on people's faces invites the viewers into their personal world, effectively humanizing a multitude of characters irrespective of the significance of their role…

  I've heard a lot about Mulholland Drive and been meaning to watch it for a long time. I must say, it was nothing like what I'd anticipated but it certainly did not disappoint. This film confused the hell out of me and I enjoyed every second of it. Definitely one I'll have to return to to gain a deeper understanding.
