Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
This is gonna be the best looking movie of the year. Such incredible and creative character design as well.
I will go ahead and be a hater and say it didn’t do it for me, I was hoping for more. I’m not a fan of the purpose of a movie to be setup for a sequel. What’s the point of all the family scenes if they set up the stakes but no follow through until the next entry in the series? It looked amazing but it felt like a nothing movie. It still had some good moments though

I watched probably half of this with one eye closed. I don't remember ever feeling this scared during a movie. I'm not sure I would have survived a viewing in a theatre
The film grain was under some discussion, but you can't argue with the results. Looking into a dark corridor smeared with writhing distortion, you start to imagine things that aren't there. The tension it builds is amazing.
I was considering my personal rating for this and I think I will give into the Skinamarink propaganda. They did so much with so little and it deserves the attention it is getting. Masterfully made
