Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV 2024
I have such mixed feelings about this docuseries but it boils down to I wish that Drake Bells allegations were dealt with differently to emphasize how sometimes victims become abusers and how this fact doesn’t make his actions ok. the way I think the series frames his actions as “he took responsibility for what he did” isn’t enough.

Polite Society 2023
This movie was so fun. it’s an enjoyable blend of martial arts films from before and so much comedy set in a contemporary setting. the film felt relatable because of the sisters dynamic. it was just such an incredible film that was full of character and heart. I was also very impressed from a storytelling perspective with how the filmmakers hinted that there is something much deeper going on in the film.

This film is phenomenal. Riz Ahmed’s performance is amazing. The scene where his deafness is very real and unfixable hurts so bad. Watching him scream and trying to break things, to just hear something is so heartbreaking. which makes his whole experience at the deaf community so much more impactful.
