    My first Ford. In 35. I have been transformed. 

    The print was pretty good given its age. Plus half the fun is seeing the damage the film has taken over time. 

    King Ford gives absolutely no fuck for consistency/continuity in lighting.     The stars belong to the stars, Mikey Madison really does a lot with an archetypal part, as do the Russian and Armenian gang of goons. The problem is that Baker seems more interested in them than the titular character. It seems he often manages to pay more attention to even childish Vanya’s gestural and overall idiosyncrasy (excellent turn from Eydelshteyn) rather than Ani’s.

    As has been said already, the politics are too confused/blatantly lib for the movie to mean or say much of anything. Astounding set and production design but the camerawork is surprisingly unimaginative—yes the sets are beautiful but the way the camera is positioned and moves is boring as hell.
