Saw the trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 this week and decided it was time for a rewatch of the OG.

30 years later and this holds up. Arguably, Sandler’s peak. Nothing he’s done since has come remotely close to this level of genuine fun. Screwball comedy, formulaic and ridiculous but a brisk 90min runtime prevent this from levels of excess. Only a couple montages and multiple Sandler pals show up. This trope sadly became much worse the older he got. Carl Weathers simply owns this fuckin movie.

The sequel will inevitably suck ass but this is peak ‘90’s Cinema. “DAMNIT, I HATE THAT BOB BARKER”
    8/10

Insane documentary about the 2011 EF5 that leveled Joplin. Missouri. Cell phones sucked in those days, but some of the footage is still bonkers.

Imagine being sucked out of a car, tossed around *inside* a tornado, only to wake up to a flesh eating bacteria. Excuse me, what?? Miracle Boy indeed, 6/10

Fascinating look at the Key Players (who are still alive) 30 years later. They dust em all off and re-interview with 30 years of perspective. If anyone thinks OJ was innocent after watching this Documentary? You're a fucking idiot.

Speaking of idiots, Carl E. Douglas might just be the dumbest person alive. His voice was beyond irritating and actually took me out of the narrative (on more than one occasion). Outside of that dipshit, solid look at the Crime of the Century. 8/10

Felt like I was watching an AI Wes Anderson film. Devoid of humor yet defined as a comedy? That’s a big fucking issue. Wonderful set design, but again- looks like AI. Nothing here feels genuine or lived in. This formula is soulless as it is broken. We’ve entered self parody at this stage.

“Nothing makes sense.” Says one character. “Doesn’t matter, keep telling the story.” Actually it does matter, and this is a giant miss considering the All-Star cast. 1/10
