I think I would’ve enjoyed this more had I not watched on one of those fucked high def tvs. I forget how distinct english culture is sometimes. an actual foreign film!!!

it’s the quarter century and I’ve vowed to be less of a bitch baby about horror.
had several apprehensions: lilly rose, so many americans playing Brits, so many americans playing Brits in olde germany, another 2.5 hour runtime.
my apprehensions weren’t disproven in the more than two (!) hours, but they were countered with the surprising humor of the quick cuts, willem dafoe mopping the floor w the entire cast, eggers’s unmatched eye.
neither robert nor lilly rose invented how easy it is to intertwine sex and evil but GOD they didn’t even try to make it complicated.
somehow didn’t mind it!!!
