This movie was a mixed bag for me.
First, some disjointed thoughts and nit-picky grievances: while some vignettes were highly relatable content, those moments were few and far between. I think that the film failed to deliver on its basic premise - the terror that is seeking familial approval of the unknown - because it sacrifices the nuance that any parallel real-life situation would surely possess in favour of some blockbuster-esque romcom payoff, which (in my opinion,) it also failed…

The Darjeeling Limited 2007
It's always difficult for me to watch films that totally and completely misrepresent India.
The Darjeeling Limited, however, finds a way to couch its storyline in my country without grossly dramatizing its shortcomings, nor over-romanticising its exoticism. It continues to amaze me that Wes Anderson accomplishes this so artfully.
