  I really liked this film until about halfway through. There are many ways to discuss and show an identity crisis, particularly that of a young brown Muslim woman - but to me this wasn’t it. From the white boy “unveiling” her, to the weird teacher scene, to the parts and story lines that just didn’t get resolved, it all seemed way too forced. There are ways to have critical discourse on conservative religious families but this seemed to only seek freedom through western ideologies.
