As a kid, I thought this movie was about an animal activist who met an untimely fate, like Steve Irwin. But this man was not that.
I love Herzog’s heartfelt, romantic approach to the subject matter, but I often rewatch the two analyses below when I want more.
I especially like Andrew’s points around the cycles of addiction and comfort, the insinuation that Timothy had a Freudian desire to return to a childlike state in the womb, and how in the end, he kinda did.
