I’m at least happy my rating distribution is skewed towards the better side of the spectrum

Extra half star because it’s just really fun and rarely do you see a film made for adults like this nowadays

This is as old-school dialogue-driven spy thriller as it gets— as in it’s as fun but it’s also as twisty in its story to the point where it does go a bit whoosh (especially in its second half). Despite that though, never really bored me for a second and always felt like Soderbergh had his hand on the wheel.

Oddly works great as a double feature with The Killer.

100% convinced this was more fun to write and shoot. Just wish it was as fun to watch beyond the staple McDonagh humor.

I’m convinced Excel is the only Indian studio that’s making films that have an actual target audience— whether it’s this or Hello Charlie (hey I didn’t say it had to be good)

Friday Night Plan takes what Y-Films tried years ago with high school films like Mere Dad Ki Maruti and pulls it off a lot stronger with a lot of innocence and heart.

Sure the dialogue feels a bit clunky sometimes and the script falters sometimes but the strong music and cinematography carries it all the way home.

    Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

    ★★½

I am literally so disappointed with this. If Fallout was the Skyfall of the MI series, then this is Spectre… but make it a B grade film.

There’s a total of two set pieces that I love and honestly, the first 30 mins were going great… I just don’t know what the heck happened after that. It tries too hard to either be serious or to make it nostalgic for the first Mission: Impossible lovers but it doesn’t even try to acknowledge the progress…
