  I’m not sure I’m allowed to log this film when I’ve only seen 6.25% of it but I coulda stayed there for all 24 hours. This is just… sublime. It really creates a language of video essay that comments without the commentary. It’s the only film that I felt like time flew but I know it didn’t because every shot had reference to the literal time it was. I watched in realtime, the time go. But the narratives he was able to create with 100 years of history. Gosh I would absolutely love the whole of it.

  Two word review - Hell Yeah

  Ocean’s 12 meets Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. What’s literally not to love? Starts off with a dinner akin to Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and from there we never look back. The costumes of Blanchett (the best) and Fassbender are just ridiculous - the turtleneck, the high-rise jeans with that leather jacket, the fishing get-up - and their house is absurd. Taut, intrigue, spies doing spy shit. What’s not to love.

  Rewatchables Project.

  I found this to be a rare rewatchable where it didn't quite captivate me and hold my attention as the first round. Now I'm a fan of the ol Aaron Sorkin, my guy is keeping the rapid-fire dialogue alive, but I felt his first directorial effort was a little scattered. He's had some truly great filmmakers (David Fincher, Bennett Miller, Mike Nichols) helm his scripts, and I think he could've used some of their influence on this. A…
