  Well… sorta kinda. I haven’t watched a Bong Joon-Ho movie in a while and I forgot how goofy he can be. It didn’t really spark as much interest or engagement as I hoped it would based on the beginning. But I had fun. Love Robert Pattinson.

  The first time in I don’t know how long that I checked the time during the film to make sure it was not ending soon. I could have watched 8 hours of it.

  There was an incredible rhythm to the entire film. The effect was mesmerizing. The craft of pretty much everything — sound design, sets, costumes, blocking — it was all so communicative and striking. 

  Cate Blanchett… you will always be famous. The film was at its best when fixed squarely on Lydia.

  Felt a bit one note. The film described people’s overwhelming ability to compartmentalize very early — and effectively. But then it never really went anywhere from there? It’s a striking idea, executed well, but I found it difficult to sustain a strong emotional response to it for the duration of the movie. I hoped it would evolve more.
