also: watching this made me realize i have a big knowledge gap re: organizing & protests in the global south. i have a tendency (tbf, curated by my past history curricula) to only look at protest movements in the US / western world, and also see the state of the global south as fossilized after various 20th century independence movements and regime changes. ik for a fact this isnt true, although seeing helps believing
