The Night of the Hunter is about a really creepy preacher who is actually a serial killer, hunting these kids for money. I really enjoyed this movie, it was weird to watch because there were some elements that were just creepy, like how Harry Powell liked to sing, and the way that he had the knife at the burlesque show, but there were some elements were really beautiful, like when John and Pearl were riding the boat down on the river. I really liked the ending, and it gave some more hope after a rough journey with the kids.
Do The Right Thing is a movie about people living in New York on a hot summer day. It addresses racism and the issues on how we all treat each other. This movie was uncomfortable to watch, but it was a very very very good movie. It really make you think about things, and it shoved these problems in your face, and you really had to think about how we treat each other, and how we live together.
This movie was interesting to watch, because of the exaggerated movements it was really funny at times, and sometimes it was hard to take seriously. The music in the back was very good and I liked how it all sounded and went along with the film. Generally, the characters bugged me a bit, I just found them annoying and unrealistic, but then again this is a movie so it isn't really supposed to be realistic. All in all, it was okay, but I don't think I would rewatch.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was the first movie of this style that I've watched, but I definitely liked it. The fight scenes were super cool and it was fun to see all of the effects and how they made the people fly. The story was a little hard to follow at some points, but I was able to keep up with it, and overall I really liked the movie, even if Jen Yu sometimes made me want to rip my hair out.
