On paper this sounded like a perfect movie for me. Road movie / Coming-of-Age / Slice of Life about a group of teenagers who travel to see their favorite band live... Unfortunately the execution isn't that good.
All characters feel interchangeable, there's little growth and it's just not captivating.
It has a lot of handycam-shots, but that made me feel more distant instead of more involved.
Story wasn't always clear to me (maybe because I was losing attention) but the…

Japanuary 2025! Starting of with a big one: the nearly 4 hour long Love Exposure by Sion Sono.
It's been on my watchlist for a while, but the runtime put me off and since Suicide Club disappointed me I was afraid this might be a 4-hour long drag..

With the new one coming out I thought it was the perfect time to finally rewatch all the movies.

Honestly, I was afraid it could only disappoint and that my memories of it were way too forgiving…

    Lord have mercy.
The script needed more work, the actors look like they want to be somewhere else, there's no chemistry between the actors at all and noone seems to be able to handle a gun.
The movie starts with a flashback, which get repeated a couple of times later, but it adds nothing to the story.
The editting is horrible. I wonder who thought it'd be a good idea to show a guy falling out of a window 10…
