5 stars simply for how loudly queer this show was. i think it's very obvious that this show was meant to be an attempt at sneaking in queerness, the queer journey and queer awakening into mainstream media in south korea, and i'd say it was a huge success.
i've seen a few other "girl-pretends-to-be-a-guy" trope korean dramas before, yet somehow none of them had what coffee prince had—an actual queer character that came to terms with queerness.
