Not as good as Super Troopers, better than Beerfest, a witty take on the slasher genre.

A wonderfully gothic mystery, mixed in with a discourse of the meaning of the church.
Sean Connery gives one of his best performances of his career as William of Baskerville, a Franciscan monk set to discover the root of a series of deaths at a monastery in northern Italy.
Christian Slater provides the wide eyed, inexperienced witness perspective, along with Ron Perlman as a reformed heretic, F Murray Abraham as an Inquisitor all support the story in perfectly pitched performances.
    A truly classic film.

Nowhere near as bad as some have made out, it’s a perfectly serviceable alternate history movie in a great setting. The supporting cast ( mostly the voice actors) outshine Pratt & Brown along with Stanley Tucci doing his best Steve Jobs impression.

Absolute stone cold classic. It’s a toss up between this and Blazing Saddles for Mel Brookes’s best movie.
