Finally re-watched
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This film attempts to present itself as a progressive tale of modern relationships and motherhood, but it ultimately falters in its execution. By portraying Jayam Ravi’s character as the eventual father of Nithya Menen’s child, the film appears to make a deliberate attempt to “protect” cultural norms rather than challenging or reimagining them.
What could have been a bold, empowering story instead feels like a cautious attempt to appeal to societal expectations. By trying to balance progressiveness with cultural conservatism, the movie ends up delivering a contradictory message that reinforces the very norms it seemed to question.
