This movie sucks and makes me (probably unfairly) think that Bret Easton Ellis might be a hack. Or maybe this is just a bad adaptation. James Van Der Beak somehow brought life to his deeply boring character.

White Noise 2022
I’d be curious to know what people think of this who haven’t read the book. The main issue is it just doesn’t encompass the constant wittiness, ongoing buzz of commercialism, or genuine heartbreak of the novel. I felt a couple moments of a heart ping, but nowhere near. Adam Driver was wrong casting-too young. Should have been someone undeniably magnetic like Robert Downey Jr. Greta feels right character-wise, but Babette was a richer person in my mind. Not to be one of those, but please god read the book. It’s so good.

Bram Stoker's Dracula 1992
This was an effort to cleanse my Coppola palette from the devastation of The Outsiders. Umm this movie is incredible. Like I actually don’t really understand how some of it was made. The art direction is masterful. The only thing it suffers from is a little bit of book pacing adaptation stuff. I mean obviously Keanu Reeves is a complete casting flop. I’m not gonna say that Winona Ryder was also wrong, but (don’t hate me, y’all) can she actually act? Idk. Gary Oldman can pull anything off. Also major stand out performance by Sadie Frost.
