This was correct in so many ways. I loved the voice of the film itself (or director); it was very playful and witty against the background of a traditionally mournful environment. The actual becoming of a guinea fowl was so satisfying. A topic of abuse that is timely, but explored in a new context amongst family, creating further tensions and complexities.

Bertram in skimpy clothing versus Martha fully covered, Paul Taylor hopping around with his staff in a mask as Tiresias, the way Martha CONTRACTS when Bertram is standing over her and slowly delivers his heel to her gut, the ENTIRE chorus killing it in the contraction series. I am blessed to have been exposed to Graham and this film at an early age, because I fully get my dramatics in dancing from her. Love Martha Forever.
