Wow, I was totally gripped throughout the entire film. It’s so different to anything I’ve ever seen and all of it was unexpected. It was angry, passionate, moving, unpredictable and romantic at times. Some of the songs were really beautiful too and I particularly loved El Amor 🥹

I like how the leads are all strong female characters and I especially liked how Jessi’s character was developed instead of her just being ‘the wife’.

I thought it was a good film but I can’t say I enjoyed watching it. I would have liked the funny bits to be funnier. I thought the boy who played the young twins was excellent and I liked the soundtrack.

Very hard-hitting. I like how subtle and understated it was. It dealt with the subject of sexual assault in a respectful and sensitive way, focussing on the devastating impact to the victim and the perpetrator’s family. Effective use of music to build tension, e.g. in the scene where they discover the fungus in the oysters. Emily Watson’s facial expressions communicated her anguish viscerally.
