The Holdovers 2023
It starts off slow but boy, does it kick in by the end. You know it's a good movie when you're desperate to see how the characters lives continue after.
Plus it feels like it could be a new annual Christmas movie? Or is that just me?

Denzel was not fucking around at all in this movie...
...but otherwise it's kinda just okay. Some great set pieces, Pedro Pascal & Connie Nielsen are really good, Joseph Quinn & Fred Hechinger get to chew the hell out of the scenery but ultimately, it doesn't have a real reason to exist...apart from exploiting an IP of course.
And poor Paul Mescal...he's probably the most inessential part of the whole thing. He's a really good actor, but he just reminds you how much of a real movie star presence Russell Crowe had in the original.
