  So painfully unaware that it made me cringe. Even Priyadarshan's comedies are "unserious", but they are aware of the socio-political realities and that awareness shows in the humor of those films. The humor has a purpose and an effect. This film, on the other hand, is like a neutered hybrid breed of pet dog. It has a lot going on in its direction and you love it cuz you love it. But it's so dumb and brainfogged that its sensibilities…

  Watching this in the theatre really elevated my experience. I will always remember this day and it just makes me appreciate theatres even more.

  As for the movie itself, I think it's alright, but it's probably gonna grow on me more when I rewatch it. I do think in the hands of another director this would have been really bad, but because of Wong Kar-Wai and his style this became something so unique and special.

  We rarely get movies like this these days, and that's really unfortunate.
