  This is my emotional support movie. Ignore the anachronistic bangs and the deviations from the book and the ways in which the 1995 miniseries was better. For 127 minutes I can just turn my brain off and watch something gorgeous. Let me have this. Let yourself have this.

  My absolute favorite part was Mark Ruffalo's bad-on-purpose Party City veneers. Each tooth was the size of one of those hard-then-soft chewing gum tabs that you get in blister foil.
  I think the brand is Eclipse? Anyways. Masterful.

  SLC Punk 1998

  Saw this in a crowded art theatre in SLC full of, you guessed it, punks. It was a truly marvelous experience. Some funny parts, some touching parts, but it was mostly just incredible to see late 90s SLC.

  So much has changed. I was truly stunned to see how dark the valley was at night. At the same time, so much has stayed the same. I never thought I'd think, "hey, I've sat on that exact bench!" while watching a sex scene, but here we are.

  A cult classic for a reason, and a must see for SLC folks, punks or otherwise.

  Beetlejuice 1988

  Exactly as cheeky, madcap, and joyous as I remember it being. Everybody is 100% committed to the bit, especially Keaton, whose performance can only be described as absolutely gonzo. Beetlejuice walked so Jack Sparrow could run.
