The only movie that matters, in my opinion.

It was as if I was watching literature. Creepy and gory, yes, but all while being pleasantly cinematic. There were shots that made me excited, scenes that made my skin crawl, and moments that resulted in my hands covering my eyes, fingers outstretched so I wouldn’t miss a beat. Never, though, did I feel scared. The most terrifying thing was the reality among horrific fantasy, and how I empathized with the tragic human experience.

Amazing in so many ways. Such a different direction for Damien Chazelle, and I’m so glad he took it. Some may argue that the classic story of the first man on the moon was “Hollywoodized” a bit, and I would have to agree. Some things were too perfect, too cutesy, too predictable. Of course, with this being based on a well known true story, the predictability may comment on the repetition of life, but I believe some details were added…

Classic. Everyone needs to see Jaws. It's not the killer shark that scares me in this film, it's the blatant and ignorant power struggles that the authority figures have. The villain in this film is the mayor. His face should be plastered on the poster. Instead, in PETA's morally conflicting nightmare of a movie, we paint the shark as the bad guy. All he did was eat a couple of people-- who can blame him?!
