Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
it’s funny because rereading my old review it’s so clear that (per recent convos!) i was a different person a year ago. some things never change (i am once again sick while watching; i still loved this movie and sobbed for most of it; it still made me miss my mom) and others really do (I’m not that lonely anymore or that melodramatic). I should say that i saw it as much more trope-heavy and almost naïve this time around…

So much play also. Very Colab

The Substance 2024
not once in the last 20 minutes did i guess the next moment correctly. back to saying genius because there are no other words for this!
definitely proved its own point w/ the way it treats age… felt like it had nowhere else to go at the end BUT absurdity… and that made sense.
for sure parallels to love lies bleeding… maybe?

Saltburn 2023
finally watched!!! yay!!! okay so i LOVEDDD the score of this perfect and so cool. and everyone in this film is so hot it’s unfair. also this is not nearly as traumatizing as everyone kept saying?? like weird yes gross sometimes but not to the level that i keep seeing everyone talk about.
cool and a fun time but kind of lacked depth for me hence 3.5
“It couldn’t have been me, I’ve never wanted to know anything!” was so real
