I eagerly went to the theatre to see this one with one of my fave fellow horror fans. I enjoyed watching it, but it didn't stike me like the VVitch or the Lighthouse, where the attention to period detail and originality of the script and characterizations blew me away.
I think the main reason this one doesn't hit me as hard is that it feels far too influenced by Coppolla, Herzog, and Adjani's performances in the earlier Nosferatu and Possession.…
Not 5 stars for me personally (though it's a classic), but watching those guys pal around is beautiful, and I appreciate the light-handed touch. Many at the time it came out didn't get it - many people now might be surprised how natural it all seems.
Sometimes it's more powerful to talk around things than indulge. The light love triangle, and the romance of these best buddies is played in an understated way the viewer can dream into it. (These are the dreamiest of outlaws.)

Watched in the theatre. I enjoy Maika M as a sceen presence - and I think she does her best with the limited script she's provided. For me, her watchability is the best part of the film.
I reject the use of Marc Bolan so much, and his music will not be at all co-opted in my brain, as for example Bobby Vinton's Blue Velvet is, because I don't feel a meaningful connection there.
