  Unexpectedly surrealist, which edged me to 5 stars. Captivating throughout. The cinematography and deliberatly intimate framings is something I greatly admire. I very much adore the acting and delivery of Kinski as Aguirre. The music was interestingly more modern than its neighbouring films of early 70s medieval dramas however it complemented the scenes delicately and helped strengthened the overall mood. I really love it.

  5/5 Pure golden cinema.
