Not me tearing up next to my kid as Mrs. Brown recalls the chaotic days when their family all could fit on one sofa.

As far as recent kids’ movies go, quite bearable. Some nice callbacks showing attention to detail and care for the script.

In our ever-coarsening era, it’s nice to see characters who care about kindness, decency, and politeness.

I find the self-aware formulaic tropes that poke fun at formulaic tropes kind of annoying. They’re still formulaic!

I wasn’t sure if my 4yo enjoyed it (he wasn’t laughing), but he says he did.

A good story badly told. I’m tired of documentaries telling stories inorganically, not addressing questions that naturally occur to the viewer. I’m tired of them being artificially constrained to tell the story via interviews. This would have been so much better if it simply told, in chronological order, everything that was known, not known, looked into, and wondered about as events developed.

How simple, how beautiful, how good! Overall this film reflects the lighthearted simplicity of St. Francis and the comedy of his way of life, though the scene with the leper -- for me, one of the most moving scenes in any film ever -- shows Francis in agony as he carries the cross of those who are despised and ostracized.
