  I never thought I'd watch a film that could approximate the feeling I got walking out of Akhnaten a couple years ago. This movie captures the dread and grandiosity of a god being born. Like I was being invited into a story not meant for outsiders. Villenueve's Dune is so alien and vast it feels like what a child imagines while listening to their mother tell the story beside the fire hundreds or even thousands of years after the fact.

  Several minutes after the credits rolled I was still mulling over why I was experiencing such a strong desire to convert to Islam.

  The whites' "love" for the Osage is sublimated hatred. It's the most dangerous kind of racism. The whites in the community learn the Osage's language, their ways, customs. But that's not really love. If you look long enough you'll see the KKK parade happening before your eyes.
