  One of the most entertaining blockbuster movies I’ve seen in years in spite of how ugly it looks, the fact that it’s IP connection is the only reason it exists, and my pretty total distaste for Aughts-era pop musicals. It made me care about “Defying Gravity”, a song I have heard dozens of times and hated every time. It works best when it is quiet and intimate, and the leads really own the roles.

  Realized I've been indoctrinating my son into a life of Muppet fandom since the day he was born by subconsciously stealing the melody of "Together Again" for the nonsense song I always sing to him when I'm changing his diapers.

  An idiot plot that knows and explicitly states that is an idiot plot. The feature length equivalent of a “Well that was awkward” joke. A “satire” where the only point made is that windbag disrupters who have had a bunch of money thrown at them are bad that ironically finds it’s home on Netflix. At least it comes prefab with symbols that point to exactly how meaningless and empty this movie is.

  The fact that professional critics were paid to review this is a strong indicator that the American tradition of film is dead. This feels like no puppet or actor were ever filmed in the same room. The set looks like a pre-rendered PS1 background. Who would have thought the cheapest and ugliest looking Muppet project would come out in 2021? The script seems to be attempting the laugh a minute, vaudeville style of the Muppet Show, but feels too caught…
