This movie is built on a premise that is fundamentally flawed, a major plothole that renders a vital element of this movie kind of pointless.

Sebastian Stan is absolutely stellar in this movie. Making a man that has been so widely portrayed and caricaturized into a believable yet recognizable performance is no easy feat, but he knocked it out of the park. After rewatching the first movie before getting into Inside Out 2, I was reaffirmed in the suspicions I had before watching the sequel; the world building of this universe is not built to handle sequels and add-ons.

The "identity" system feels pointless as the first movie already established the existence of the "personality islands", which served the same or extremely similar purpose and were only mentioned once in the sequel, only to be forgotten forever immediately after.
    It's also very…
