Wow I hated this! A feeble attempt at saying something profound and interesting about motherhood but it just…. Wasn’t happening. It almost felt satirical. This negative narrative around motherhood is so tired, like WE GET IT, but that’s my own personal (and incredibly naive) opinion talking. This was a bummer because I found this book to be fascinating and so memorable but that complex internal dialogue had no shot at translating into a film

The Brutalist 2024
This movie was stunning! Beautiful to watch, memorable characters, a built in intermission (which I love even though I feel the movie could’ve been made shorter, leaving no reason for an intermission). Overall, this lost me in the end but I found the first half captivating. This felt like a book and I love movies that feel like books (and vice versa)

This movie has all the makings of something excellent- I love the actors so much, the music, scenery, vulnerability… it’s a miss for me because I have such a hard time watching cancer stories. When someone gets sick the ending feels inevitable and obvious and I just feel low-grade dread throughout the entire movie which makes it so hard for me to enjoy. Perfectly executed movie, just not for me sorry Flo <3
