Hasan Minhaj: Off with His Head 2024
A resounding ‘this ain’t it, chief’ from me. I like basically everything else he’s done and was generally supportive of what seemed like pretty weak ‘lying’ allegations. But the tone of bitterness during this set just gets in the way of any earnestness his previous shows have had, and it’s just not as funny.
It’s not the worst it coulda been, like he didn’t go full anti-woke or anything, but it’s a noticeable swing. This and Baby J make good counterpoints to “what to do after your high energy friendly persona meets reality, but you’ve still gotta make a special for Netflix”
