Easily one of the best Three Kingdoms related films made (which, to be honest, isn't a particularly long list surprisingly and unfortunately).
A movie that seems humble today, but stands out as a great character piece based on the story of the eponymous historical characters, a warts and all depiction and likely one of the first truly "modern" takes on the Three Kingdoms.
It is a movie that also holds up well as one of the finest, historically authentic depictions…
I liked to imagine the D&D group that were meta-writing the plot of this film had the biggest drama and falling out afterwards.
